I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Work-life balance, good healthcare and benefits, focus on corporate responsibility

Cons

Long hours, lower pay/bonuses compared to peers, restructuring and organization changes at least 1-2 times a year. Deutsche Bank does a poor job realizing talent and promoting from within. Many high achievers move to other companies and sometimes return to climb the ranks.

Advice to Management

Improve efficiency and automation of processes; There's lots of waste and redundancies that could be avoided with a less siloed approach to thinking; Promote talent from within or you'll lose many good people.

I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Somewhat better work/life balance than NYC analysts.
Technically better pay than NYC analysts, when adjusting for a much lower cost of living in FL.

    Cons

Lower overall pay/bonus than NYC, feel like back office workers even though we're part of the investment bank.
Feels like no future for career advancement.
Little/no pay differentiation based on group productivity or amount of hours worked.
Lack of passion/drive to succeed in some co-workers.
Local management is very cliquey/shows favoritism to certain groups.

I worked at Deutsche Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Technology area: Can be satisfying depending on which group you are in. Management was trying to improve for the long-term. Remains to be seen how that works out.

    Cons

Technology area: Extensive outsourcing and employment shift to lower cost cities has reduced the opportunities in some groups (eg, support functions / groups). Probably best for positions closest to the business (eg, front-office supporting business analysts, etc). Some roles/groups did not receive equal respect by mid to upper IT management.

    Advice to Management

Balance the need for cost cutting with keeping needed talent and knowledge.
