I worked at Dillard's full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Pays pretty well, for retail, offers good benefits

Cons

Very high turnover rate, because not commission, rather SPH or sales per hour. It was difficult for everyone to keep hourly sales up especially since it's not a busy store. People either ended up quitting before their review or being fired randomly one day because of their sales.

    I worked at Dillard's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Decent pay for 6 months

    Cons

No training, company sets up sales associates to fail with unrealistic sales goals, chances are you know more about how the floor should be run then your managers, constantly having to do double work which takes away from time to actually attempt to reach sales goal

    Advice to Management

Train your employees and learn about company policies so when an employee asks a question they can actually get an answer

    I worked at Dillard's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

good pay, they started me at $12/ hr

    Cons

if you dont meet your goals you get paycuts, 2 paycuts in a row and your out, your reviews are every 3 months if you dont make your goal and if you do it's every year
HORRIBLE managment, every manager has different rules.
unfortunately the manager i had was the worst. If you didnt make within 20% of your departments goal he would write you up and from that point have less than one week until you were fired. No warnings no nothing. This company see's their employees like just another number they can replace at any moment. ALSO you do a LOT of work. you have to sell, merchandise, mannequins, fitting rooms, stock, keep clean, basically EVERYTHING... ALSO i needed a part time for school and they would not work around it!

    Advice to Management

loosen up... ive worked at macys and at dillards... I know your number one comeptitor is Macys and the reason they are winning is because this company is careless towards its employees!
