I worked at Dillard's part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

You get 50% off merchandise upon hiring. The pay is better than most other retail stores. The customers are classier than other retail stores. It's not a junk store; the merchandise is nice and is nicely displayed. Closing duties are minimal.

Cons

Managament is awful. There is a lot of waste in time inefficiency and other materials wastes. Sometimes the sales quotas are unrealistic. Not much room for promotion. The Christmas parties suck now that anyone is allowed to attend and not just VIP members.

Advice to Management

Clean your act up. Pay attention to what is happening around you.

    I worked at Dillard's part-time

    Pros

Co-workers, Store discount, got paid to go through the training program, really easy application process and only had to do 2 interviews(in the same day)

    Cons

Daily sales goals were a deterrent to sell to certain customers, its clear that management doesn't really care about employees and everyone is replaceable, must have a dillard's credit card in order to get your employee discount.

    Advice to Management

Customers are people....not just numbers, profit isnt the only thing important when working in retail. Respect your employees-make them feel like they matter- its sad how high turnover is in the stores.
