    I worked at Dillard's full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    I loved working there, my department manager was great at motivating us and they were excellent at training on company policy.

    Cons

    We had to watch videos to keep current on trends and while that was good the system we were using buffered so bad that by the time the video loaded I would have to exit out to take care of a customer/ there was no designated time to watch the videos. Also after hitting my commission goal they set it so far out of the realm of possibility as to be de-motivating rather than motivating.

    Advice to Management

    Please make sure that if you set commission based goals they stay achievable.

    Pros

    Pay is better than most other stores in the industry. Promotions are attainable. Someone who is coachable and flexible can go far.

    Cons

    Sales goals can be hard to reach, especially in commission based positions. Not necessarily a con but you must present yourself well and stay on trend.

    Advice to Management

    Pursue modern forms of advertising and community outreach.
