I worked at Dillard's full-time (More than a year)

Pros

The pay is nice, You get your schedule a month in advance, Vacation pay, Co workers were nice enough, Good promotions

Cons

Unrealistic sales goals ($1,000 on a Monday... no), You have to do markdowns during work hours and still sale, upper management are "gods" not to be looked at or spoken too, the old computers kept breaking, you must open credit cards or get fired.

Advice to Management

Get rid of the sales goals, Find a better way to do markdowns, Make the buyers and other upper management less scary, buy better computers that work.

    I have been working at Dillard's full-time

    Pros

Pays the bills and sometimes you run into good people along the way.

    Cons

The district managers and VPs are absolutely horrible. They treat their employees like they're animals and have no mercy for people who are having a difficult time. I was a manager and treated very very well but could no longer stand how the company treated the hourly employees.
After Bill Dillard passed away the company went down hill. They're too money hungry. They don't understand that the key to a good and prosperous business is treating their sales people with respect. This is why they will never become Nordstrom (which they're striving to be).

I have been working at Dillard's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers, pay, discount, and good managers(if any)

    Cons

The pressure about SPH, no job stability in a small town with slow sales, no benefits, minimum 28 hrs a week which means you don't qualify for anything.

    Advice to Management

PLACE YOURSELF IN OUR SHOES. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT WHEN YOU SAY EVERYONE CAN MAKE SALES. IT WOULD BE FAIR IF THERE WAS A ROTATION.
