I worked at Discovery Communications as a contractor (Less than a year)

Pros

Design was creative, various project opportunities, people were mostly friendly

Cons

management was top-down. a lot of pressure. designers were very competitive with one another for permanent positions within the Creative department.

Advice to Management

work better in teams.

    Very much a corporate environment, which means you have to step around some people and play politics to get what you need.

    Less meetings, less reports, more on the ground work.
