No opinion of CEO

I worked at Discovery Communications full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Company has great name recognition. It was once a very fun filled company but has since grown to strictly value ratings and bottom line over the value of its core which is employees.

Cons

The company has become so very corporate that it has lost its spirit and failed to celebrate the most important resource - the employees.

I have been working at Discovery Communications part-time

    Pros

    Great location/easy commute with metro
Very flexible work hours for full time students
Awesome company, with access to a huge media network

    Cons

Not much emphasis on career development
    Not enough challenging projects
    No commuter reimbursement

    Advice to Management

Most Interns commute from DC, which ends up being about $7 a day in metro fares or $80+ per month of parking in your garage. Consider reimbursing students who car-pool or take the metro.
