I worked at Dishcrawl full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

If you work at the HQ in San Jose you get free food often. Nancy the HR manager is very kind.

Cons

Employees are not clearly told what is expected of them. The pay is much less than they tell you it will be. There is very little chance of ambassadors succeeding financially as the business has low profit margins. The founder is cocky and rude (Tracy Lee). Employees are asked to work 60+ hours a week. Almost all workers are contract and those who are not are let go just as easily as contract workers. Interns are illegally doing all things paid employees are doing but without getting paid.

Advice to Management

Treat employees better if you want your business to grow.

I worked at Dishcrawl part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work from home, make your own hours, working with restaurants and food.

    Cons

No base pay, no paid training. Very little actual support from management.

    Advice to Management

You are basically using people to profit off their hard work while not paying them. BEWARE - This is a strictly profit-sharing venture. If you need to pay for rent or food, this is not the kind of job you need. If you do have the luxury of working for free for the first five weeks, go for it but don't invest too much of your own money because you won't be compensated. You will be provided with a few business cards (NOT your own personal ones) and some stickers and that's about it. Be sure you know a lot of people who are willing to shell out a rather high ticket price for dinner because if you don't have enough people for your first event, you will not be hired. Progressive dining is a great concept but better run by people who have the money to pay their employees without all the empty promises. And a very big FYI to Dishcrawl coming from a culinary background, you are NOT offering these restaurants enough of a cut! Their cut will barely pay for their food costs. The promises of "oh, you can make it up in drinks, etc", just doesn't cut it in the eyes of many restaurant owners and chefs. Please get more knowledgeable about the culinary industry. They need to make profit!
