I have been working at Disney Parks & Resorts as an intern (More than a year)

Pros

Insane benefits, like free park entry, discounts on hotels, cruises, merchandise and more. Various cast only events, sneak previews etc. Get to be part of creating magic.

Cons

Hours can be inconsistent, either a lot or a little depending on what time of year, which park/resort etc. Work-life balance doesn't exist, you basically marry your job (if you're an intern or full time), or struggle to get hours (oart-time/seasonal).

Advice to Management

Be willing to negotiate and see where the unions are coming from. Allow for more movement up the "chain" as it were, without necessarily having done a professional internship.

I worked at Disney Parks & Resorts as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

This company offers a multitude of opportunities for people of any age and skill level. The people are fantastic, the jobs are fun, and you can learn so much everyday. Also, the benefits are really something!

    Cons

It is a great place to work, but you have to expect to work long hours, and receive a little less pay than you would expect.

I worked at Disney Parks & Resorts as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Guest interaction is great. Entertainment perks like getting in the parks for free and being able to get others in for free is the best perk. It is pretty easy to switch shifts if you need a break and during peak seasons you can get a lot of overtime if you want it.

    Cons

Pay is very low. Being an intern, you do not get any insurance benefits. Also, the company housing for interns is not free. They take about $100/week out of your paycheck for rent and you share a room sometimes with more than one person. You can have up to 8 people in one apartment for 4 bed/4 bath. It can be pretty ridiculous.

    Advice to Management

    Give interns free housing!
