Pros

Great opportunity to work with excellent ophthalmologists. Recommended for someone is very detailed and can sit for long periods of time.

Cons

No ability for growth unless you went back to school. It was so busy and the management seemed so overwhelmed with work.

Advice to Management

Take care of your personal life before bringing it in the work place.

I worked at Doheny Eye Institute full-time

    Pros

    -Family-friendly environment
    -Standard working hours
-Entry-level experience for working in clinical research
-Opportunity to get a good title

    Cons

Avoid working at the DIRC until center has moved to Pasadena. Doheny has had a very messy divorce with USC and is now affiliated with UCLA. While the rest of Doheny has moved, the DIRC is still in limbo at the USC medical campus with no institutional support whatsoever. Doctors and leadership are across town, never to be seen, and have ignored the center's struggles. The reading center has taken on more contracts than it can handle, and the effects of that has seen a destruction of employee morale. Turnover is huge and will likely be so until the relocation near the main Doheny Eye Center.

    Advice to Management

Better projection of contracts and resourcing.
