I have been working at Dollar Tree full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

The customers love the $1 business model

Cons

Most products are from the bottom of the retail
food chain and lack quality

Advice to Management

Insure regional director reflects the company mission and goals instead
of her own agenda of trying to keep her job resulting in unacceptable turn over
in store and district managers

I worked at Dollar Tree full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Monthly planner, co-workers (if you hired them), some good customers, price point, some brand name products, first to see new products

    Cons

As a manager, 52 scheduled hours, work week was actually 70+, ASR's that had no rhyme or reason in certain stores, hours for stockers not adequate, stupid amount of paperwork, lack of trust from corp. for employees, insane amount of overstock with no control, constant negative feedback from DM, outside theft

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees, stockers, cashiers and ASM's make very little for the effort they put forth! They are not a den of thieves as you may think. Let managers run the store, we know better than you who are customer is, when they shop and what they want. Let us have the freedom to schedule another cashier during peak times. That will free us up to do what we were hired to do, manage the store.

I worked at Dollar Tree full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I used to love going to work. years ago they were a great company to work for , but towards the end of my employment the company became worse and worse

    Cons

Corporate did not budget the store enough hours to complete all the required work. They're productivity expectations continued to get higher and higher making it nearly impossible to get the job done. Hourly employees were only scheduled 10-15 hours per week at minimum wage, which caused a high turnover rate

    Advice to Management

be more understanding of the "real world" environment
