Pros

pay was alright. the crew was dedicated.

Cons

DM clueless. Wanted store manager at store open to close, no days off. unorginized, and rude. No chance for store manager to control crew, DM wanted all the control.

Advice to Management

train the DM on how to be leaders. Fin a way to comunate on a possitive note. alow the store manager to be in control of the store.

    Pros

Pretty much anybody become a manager at dollartree, which means most of your managers are incompetent.

    Cons

Everyone that I worked with had a lot of issues with the company, except for some of the managers. It seemed like when the managers were working, most of the time they would be hiding in the back. They really didn't care about the people up front that you had to deal with. It was so disorganized and the store was always filthy. It really didn't matter how much one vacuumed because everything stuck to the floor. There was so much dust in the store that I actually had problems with my asthma. The manager would only hire females, which was annoying because of the cattiness. The manager would call me randomly wanting me to come in when I was supposed to be off and he had an issue if someone wasn't able to come in. At nights there is only one cashier and one manager working which turns chaotic (especially on weekends) when the managers don't want to do their jobs. You are stuck with balloon orders, customers at the register, back shop, vacuuming, and trying to make the shelves look nice. You only get a 10 minute break for a 5 hour shift and you don't even get paid for that. As an employee, you are not allowed to buy drinks from the store at 7 pm which is ridiculous.
I could go on and on, basically, this is a job that you take while you are looking for another one.

    Advice to Management

Work on communicating with your employees and co workers, be honest with them also. If someone requests off 2 weeks in advanced, give it to them. Also, the cattiness is ridiculous and there are 2 managers that really do start a lot of it. Managers need to be more professional.

    Pros

could be a very good place to work its a good amospheremost of the time, there's always work to be done, most of the associates are easy going and good to work with most managersfor the most know there trade very well and give good training

    Cons

the company itself has come to the conclusion that they can do more with less, there's always more work than their are hours,DT's for he most part only think about what they can do to increase their bonuses, the more hours they take from the stores, the more they make when a store exceeds their weekly sales, they take hours from them instead of giving, now they want employees to buy uniforms, you're a 4-B dollar company supply the uniforms, you don't pay enough for us to purchases them.your words $4-B

    Advice to Management

pay the backbone of thecompany the way you pay the eyes an ears without the stockers and cashiers, your just another dollar store,it's the workers that make the store ot the price or product
