Exhilarating Work and Teammates, Decent Leadership

      Pros

      - Lots of interesting and challenging problems to solve as DoorDash is not as established as the other big tech players, due to operating like a startup at heart. - Amazing teammates who are super driven and helpful, although sometimes people may seem overburdened with responsibilities. Vast majority of folks I worked with have a 'play to win' attitude and instead of cowering in the face of difficult challenges, we tackled them head on. - Depending on the team, you should expect to learn a ton on the technical and business side. Unlike many corporate environments, DoorDash tracks both application and business metrics extensively and they're open to every employee.

      Cons

      - Depending on the team / org, work life balance can range from terrible to decent. - When nearly half of your compensation is in RSU's, stock price definitely matters a bit -- but to be fair the entire tech sector is down during the 2022-23 recession.

          Pros

You can work the hours you choose.

          Cons

As a driver you are bombarded with tactics aimed at drivers taking low pay on deliveries. They try to convince you that if you improve your acceptance rate you will get higher paying orders. So by this theory you must lose money to make money. I am talking about $2 or &3 orders , including tip. At $3.55 gas prices , insurance, and wear and tear on your car you make less than minimum wage. All at the promise of higher pay. Which does not happen often. Another tactic is when there is an issue holding up an order, wrong address, order already picked up, etc you must go through a maze of options to correct. Even if you pick all the right choices you only get half of the pay promised. Even though through no fault of the driver, we pay the penalty. And the helpline( support) is there to help door dash keep their profits and rarely help you. They confuse you to the point of hoping you end the chat, that you give in to see it their way. All tactics to get you to work for less pay. Endless mind games Endless low paying orders. All designed to make them rich.

Has anyone interviewed at HSBC and had to take a assessment before hearing that you got an interview? Took an assessment on Thursday for a role I applied to, wondering how long it takes to hear if you got an interview?

        Senior Manager

I want to give my 2 weeks notice this week but my boss is traveling internationally for work and have her calendar fully blocked. Should I just send an email or call her phone? Sorry for the stupid question but I’ve been in the same company for 9 years and I don’t know what’s the standard re: giving notice in a situation like this. I want to leave on good terms

Hello, Please be kind. I’m so out of the loop and beat down, and may have posted this in a wrong group. I have been at my job 11 years, applied for a new job out of my organization. Posting closed last Mon. Tues at 4:40 they emailed to request an interview and wanted my top days/times for upcoming M-W. I responded with pref Wed afternoon as 1, Tues early or late as 2 or 3. I have not heard a response. I have to figure out an excuse to go on Tues to leave work. Is this normal to keep hanging on?
