Pros

Clients. Brilliant people from all walks of life, seeing them progress and social environment Staff. Talented, hard working and one team culture

Cons

Staff management - cost of travel to other sites to cover absence is not reimbursed, staff expected to work for free 30 mins prior to a shift, if a client is a no-show then hourly rate is halved. No overtime. Late payment of salaries, changed salary payment date without notice. Clients - No client account reviews or ensuring long-term clients are retained. Too much focus on new client acquisition.

Pros

Members are lovely, it's the reason I kept going. The staff in the gym were so supportive and helped me when I really needed it

Cons

Here’s a revised version of your review with a more neutral and professional tone: --- Challenging Work Environment with Limited Support My experience at this company was challenging due to a lack of structured onboarding and management practices. On my first day, I was instructed to work from home with minimal guidance, spending 10 hours cold-calling with only a brief initial conversation. The second day consisted of shadowing a colleague for half a day, after which I was left to learn most aspects of the role independently. The workspace was very small, and staff were mindful of speaking quietly due to the presence of surveillance equipment. Communication from management was inconsistent, with messages often arriving during off-hours, including very late at night. Employee turnover was notably high, and I observed that staff concerns about workload and purpose were not adequately addressed. Regular one-on-one feedback sessions were not part of the company culture. My first formal review took place during probation, and while feedback was provided, no formal documentation was completed. There were also operational challenges. For instance, member fees were significantly increased, yet maintenance issues, such as repairing a damaged boxing bag, took months to resolve. When my probation ended, I was informed of the decision via email without prior notice. Additionally, there were delays in receiving my final pay and leave entitlements, which were only resolved after I raised the issue formally. Overall, while this role presented some learning opportunities, I believe improvements in onboarding, communication, and staff support would significantly enhance the workplace experience. The only way this place keeps running is the personal trainers

Pros

Not having to work on a Sunday

Cons

There’s too many to list. Just to summarise, the only focus in this business is to bully their staff. The owner has staff members teaching sessions who aren’t qualified PT’s and charging members over £200 a month for it- unbelievable.
