    Pros

    Casual dress code and location.

    Cons

    Layoffs are the norm - whenever the owner is running out of money, due to poor business decisions, he cuts staff (5 times since 2008). Management is top heavy and they don't really care to listen to their employees. Owner claims he is a faith based and lives by the company values but cares more about himself and putting money in his own pocket. Leadership cares nothing about the quality of work, as long as the worker bees get the work done and they don't have to do anything. Keep your head down, the moment you speak up you're out of there.

    I worked at Douglas Shaw & Associates (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Dress Code. Location is good -- close to Interstate. Nice office but way too big.

    Cons

    In the past several years, the CEO, a few Senior V.P.'s including the the Creative Director have Resigned and numerous employee's have left the company. This has left the company without a solid foundation, direction and future.

    Lack of quality hires. Inexperienced Client Services employees, all are right out of college, have no work ethic and don't understand the business. They'd rather point the finger at someone else when there is a problem rather than be accountable.

    3 lay-off's is 18-months.

    Word to the wise: If you voice your opinions/suggestions that Senior Mgnt doesn't want to hear (mostly to better processes and the company and requires Change) and disagree with management, you'll be out very quick.

    Owner claims he is faith based and truly cares about his employees. Yet during the past 1-1/2 years he has HR do his dirty work of laying employees off, while he sits in his office.

    Company has sent itself in the downward spiral the the past 5 years....owner not aware of his books--result--> talented staff terminated to make up for the losses (cars & corporate airplane to name a few).

    Advice to Management

    Time to get some new blood in there and weed out the Good Old Boys. The Director of Strategy and Salesman are not open to change. They may say they are but they aren't.
