Disapproves of CEO

Pros

The patient's are awesome. The benefits package is good. The nursing staff is like a second family.

Cons

It is a teaching facility, one is constantly dealing with new resident physicians. The CEO has designated himself the CNO, and placed a radiology technician with a Masters in business over the entire operations, so the nursing has very little protection or advocacy. There is no holiday pay. Equipment is outdated.

I have been working at Driscoll Children's Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

profit sharing for employees, matching retirement

    Cons

    Not enough African American nurses

    Advice to Management

Consider recruiting more African American nurses. African American nurses in the community complaining that they were not given the opportunity to care for pediatric patients and have to move out of the area if they want to have a career as a pediatric nurse
