I worked at Drug Emporium part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing coworkers, they are always willing to work with school schedules, easy to trade days with another employee if an emergency arises, great management.

    Cons

Pay was not so great, but expected for a cashier job.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

This has the potential to be a decent job for a teenager or student. Depending on which department you work in, they will be flexible in not scheduling you to work when you're supposed to be in school. They are also willing to hire senior citizens.

    Cons

Very unhappy place to work. There is a lot of drama that is spurred or even started by management rather than discouraged. Corporate office is useless. Very rigid work environment where it feels like you are always guilty or on trial, even if you haven't done anything wrong. Full-time employees who had worked there for years were overworked, underpaid, and exploited. Overall, no one really enjoyed working there and that's why there were so many problems. Everyone's negativity fed into each other's. No opportunities for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Your senior management often seems to be less accountable and dedicated than the young junior employees you hire as cashiers and associates. Respecting your employees more would help your business. Some assistant managers of departments were often run into the ground picking up the slack for upper management or other departments, so perhaps accountability should be spread more evenly across employees instead of lumped onto the ones who already try their hardest.
