Pros

Rewarding to work at a company that knows what they are doing and are good at it. Good at team work. People work together , help each other ,and are not competitive. Good benefits, bonuses every year.

Cons

Feed back on performance is lacking. Career path is lacking. Not clear why some people are promoted quickly and other solid performers seem to take much longer or not at all.

Advice to Management

Put people in positions that deserve to be there and will have respect from peers. Don't expect us to "train up".

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Does not demand very many hours per week if not in management. Many research projects are intellectually stimulating. Many great colleagues.

    Cons

Uncompetitive pay and benefits. Uncompetitive compared with more agile and focused competitors. VERY slow to execute. Can be stifling environment for true innovators and entrepreneurial types.

    Advice to Management

Make a commitment to be the best again. Go back to the culture of the heyday years. Let the scientists run wild. Put them at the center. Be more like Google or Amyris.
