Pros

While at the Troy site, it was more like family than work. A very tight knit group. The facilities were very nice and organized. It was a shame to see it go.

Cons

The facilities at Mt Clemens are in terrible shape. To many people crammed into a very small area.
There is not enough equipment to work effective.

Advice to Management

My advice would be to concentrate on improving the work environment. I would also reward those who go the extra mile. Also spend the money and upgrade the equipment.

    Pros

Many good people to work with.
    Great name recognition on resumes
Some managers (now retired) were very supportive and nurtured a good environment for growth and for reaching potential.

    Cons

Many people are promoted who don't qualify and don't have the skills to manage.
Office politics is rampant, and stifling.
People in management positions are out of touch with reality.
Consultants from the "big guys" are treated okay, but contract IT employees without the backing of a major consulting firm are screwed.
Some managers micromanage, rather than trusting their employees not to be morons.

    Advice to Management

Only promote people to management who truly deserve it. Trust your employees to know their jobs. Hire good people directly.
