I have been working at Duke Energy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Salary and job security.

    Cons

Poor management at the local level. And that would be the management above the front line supervision. It is very clear that the upper management at the plant I work at has little concern for the employees or the equipment and their sole focus is their own advancement.

    Advice to Management

To upper corporate management: Send representatives to Gibson Station! Local management is running it into the ground. The equipment is falling apart, engineering is useless, and local upper management treats the front line supervision like dirt. The upper station management lets equipment fail even when told about problems, the excuse is always "the budget will not allow it". We know that they are being deceptive to corporate about the condition of the plant. The local upper management only is concerned about their promotability and in their eyes that means coming in under budget. The local upper management is failing the company and it's employees.
