    Recommends
    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Obviously there are perks in being a grad student: a PhD (eventually), flexible schedule, the opportunity to work with very smart people and advance your career

    Cons

Durham isn't the greatest city ever (but not terrible). 5 years at a grad student pay rate is miserable. The low pay is really the only major negative.

    Advice to Management

Don't really have any major suggestions. Grad students gripe about everything, but when it comes down to it we're getting paid to earn a PhD. Pretty good deal.

    Pros

    Mostly young crowd
    Intelligent RAs, grad-students, and post-docs
    Mostly happy workers

    Cons

pick your PI wisely, some are terrors

    Advice to Management

Get to know everybody, from the RAs to the post-docs. As an undergraduate student, it's hard to make the effort to approach a senior official that always looks rushed, stressed, or disinterested.
