I have been working at Dun & Bradstreet full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The atmosphere at D&B is friendly. Upper management is slowly coming to understand that the current business model cannot be sustained long-term.

    Cons

The upper management has be slow to truly embrace the "new economy" where data is a commodity. Most groups do not encourage innovation. The funding model is inflexible.

    Advice to Management

Stop worrying about placating the shareholders short-term to protect the stock price.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Dun & Bradstreet full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Work from home several days a week
    - Competitive salary
    - Career growth and maneuvering possibilities

    Cons

    - financial flexibility (lay-offs) touted as core strength of the company. Lay-offs every year in every department for 10 straight years, regardless of performance of the employee. I saw multiple extremely competent people laid off who had been there over 30 years. Just so CEO could keep her bonus.

    - CEO / GLT only care about meeting the bottom line so their bonus stays put. And the bottom line only meets expectations by laying people off (no revenue growth).

    - Culture of lay-offs puts everyone on edge, looking out for themselves at all times. Highly political environment. Lots of secrets and very poor communication.

    - Avoid this company

    Advice to Management

CEO / GLT should be fired immediately. This once proud pillar of American capitalism is finished.
