Pros

Brand is well recognized, though in danger of eroding. Mid level managers are good people leaders.

Cons

Constant uncertainty about job security; "financial flexibility" is an euphemism for cutbacks that have now doubled the workload for most people and are cutting into bone. The result is more stress and less work/life balance for those that remain. Strategy keeps shifting, and I believe it's headed in the wrong direction due to obsession with short term numbers (which drive stock price, and in turn senior executive compensation)

Advice to Management

Focus on the reviving the brand; less emphasis on the short term; take time to see what is happening at the ground level to the average employee. Ensure a holistic approach is taken to re-engineering, rather than a top-down, reductionist approach. Give senior managers and Senior executives time to master a function before moving them to new areas and causing chaos that only begins to clear just before the next wave hits.

    Pros

D&B offers realitvely good products at a reasonable cost, has strong brand recognition and has forged strong relationships with third parties. This goes a long way in sales. Employee benefits are above industry norms. Many intelligent employees.

    Cons

The work culture is comprabale to the TV show, "Survivor," excpet there is no prize at the end. Leadership's attitudes foster an unproductive, beaurocratic work environment that stimies innovation and accepts and expects the status quo. The company has numerous long-time team members who are arrogant, lazy and self-satisfied.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to competition; they are sneaking in under your radar. Reward innovation.

    Pros

The people at D&B are very nice to work with and deeply care about the work they do. They also car about the customers and try to do the right thing for their customers.

    Cons

Senior management is a revolving door and often makes decisions without understanding the impact to our customers. They approve and fund projects and before the project is complete will take the remaining funds away so you can not complete the project.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to learn about D&B products, processes and customers. Develop and stick with a few long term key bets that will drive the future of the business.
