Pros

Committed to the local community; products are good quality; great manufacturing employees; Shingo Gold at the Enterprise level; 2009 Industry Week Best Plant; PRIDE.

Cons

Work/life balance is difficult; culture is conservative and slow to progress; everyone wants to know if you can get them a Golf Car at employee price.

Advice to Management

Don't lose touch with your employees - they have important feedback for you.

    I worked at E-Z-GO full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some incredible people to work with, profitable and stable business, great benefits from Textron, and a true focus on developing people and promoting from within. Textron really values the business and the cash it generates. Best return on invested capital in the whole Textron enterprise.

    Cons

It's a little stinky on this side of town (paper mill and water treatment plant nearby). Data is hard to access, so a lot about success there is simply managing perceptions and picking the right manager to work for. The Golf Value Stream has a strange group dynamic where gossiping and backstabbing are almost valued. This department could stand to have an improvement in professionalism. Also, most of the top executives are sales types. There is not a lot of innovation going on - primarily reactions to customer feedback.

    Advice to Management

Drive more transparency around data - less focus on perceptions

    Pros

Hard working hourly workforce, although not treated well by director level management due to uneducated, impulse decisions. I am surprised they have not unionized.

    Cons

If you are the type of person who is driven, accountable, and passionate save your sanity and career...look elsewhere. Attrition for salaried employees is very high and rising due to management/ senior leadership's blind eye to talented people. Promotion from within is nearly impossible and not based on performance, and salary increases are not awarded for those who are promoted. The company will, however, laterally move you for years and years and call it talent development so they can get their "check" in the box. Positions open up only when employees finally realize they have wasted away years of their life going nowhere and leave, only then to be back filled by a lateral equivelant position that absorbs their responsibilities, leaving zero opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Please stop the high school drama and act like professional adults.
