Pros

Entrepreneurial company which allows staff the opportunity to progress.

EDF Trading is definitely an employer of choice, many people want the opportunity to work there because of the geographical and market presence.

Cons

Sometimes existing staff are promoted without merit, or substandard under performing remain in their roles, without being managed effectively.

I have been working at EDF full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great staff, friendly environment. Meet lots of people from around the world, including the occasional celebrity. Once past your probationary period you get a staff pass for a limited number of free tickets to all Merlin attractions, worldwide.

    Cons

Shift patterns - working weekends and variable early/late shifts can affect your social life outside of work. Due to the London tourism peak season being during school holidays means it can also be difficult to book time off during those periods. Occasional lack of passing on vital work related information (such as 2-4-1 offers) to all departments can lead to customers being provided with the wrong information. This irritates both staff and most importantly the customer who could feel let down by the company and not get the most from their experience.

    Advice to Management

Making staff welfare (inc. annual leave) a priority. In the case of holidays, look into each case thoroughly where more than two members of a team wish to take leave at the same time. Make sure correct information ( regarding the product for instance ) is divulged properly between departments, from the highest tot eh lowest team member.
