Pros

EMC might be better. But in data domain which is bought by EMC as Backup and replication section, it's just start-up without great stocks and free lunch. You have opportunities to work in diff areas as you like

Cons

unfriendly to immigration. mostly EB3
EMC only took over management and leave the rest as it is. No good integration. Lack of management. Managers compete for meat.
Freedom to try a lot. But if you make a mistake, EMC boston would not take efforts for good investigation but to blame.
Almost engineer with 2-4 years experiences all left. The company is now running by fresh graduate and super seniors.

Advice to Management

Try to learn some culture in Silicon Valley. It's a immigration based industry. Not boston whiteman style. If you don't offer competitive management, you are ruining the companies you bought.

    Pros

Big company with lots of opportunity for travel & challenges for those interested in taking on challenges. Current gig involves interaction with folks from about 10 different offices in 6 different countries.

    Cons

Lots of jobs are getting outsourced to India and China. There's a consistent pattern of companies getting acquired & then starved for resources, which makes it hard to maintain innovation.

    Cons

Don't leave contract employees as contract employees. Recognize talent and hire them as f/t before other companies do.
