I have been working at EMC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Best benefits out there. Ample opportunity to work with with pretty much any enterprise hardware, software in the industry. Training & certification opportunties across the board.

    Cons

Lots of bloat in middle management, plenty of office politics to go with it. Favoritism can be extreme. Many lower-middle managers/directors are promoted engineering personnel (good in terms of career growth), but without having or learning people, conflict resolutions skills.

    Advice to Management

Look hard at the redundancy within middle management layers the next time we are told that layoffs are necessary, rather than the individual contributors who actually do the heavy lifting.
