I have been working at EMC full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Good salaries and benefits as well as fairly open to home offices.

Cons

As stated above, silos of separate products competing more than working together to make everything coordinated and better. Counter-productive politics and many people working towards their own agendas (themselves).

Stock hasn't done anything interesting for many years so this isn't much of an incentive. Company's so big that very few people can affect this price or really make much of a difference anywhere in the company. Decisions are usually pretty slow and not always the right ones...

Advice to Management

Don't reward counter-productive politics and connect the silos better.

    - South St traffic at 4-5 PM

    Advice to Management

Training, provide feedback (good or bad), pay for talent and for hard work.

    Pros

    -Flexibility, able to work remotely
    -Training opportunities

    Cons

    -Lack of management
    -Few opportunities for advancement
    -Low salaries/bonuses

    Advice to Management

I think the department could benefit greatly from a re-org. Most of the people in ES have been in the same position for many years and are doing just enough to get by with little or no desire/drive to do any more.
