I have been working at EMC full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Has a pleasant environment, excellent training, always looking to improve the product. Allows you room for personal growth and invites you to express your ideas. They are especially good with work to life balance.

Cons

Has an appalling methodology for determining wages increases, where they calculate the percentage of pay increase for the group as a whole, but the percentage is often lower than the rate of inflation. Then, when they divide it up between the various employees, some get little or even nothing. Upper management is apparently unaware that cost of living increases require salary increases just in order to keep up.

Advice to Management

Obviously, you must show your stockholders that you manage your money well. But please don't do it at your employees' expense.

I have been working at EMC full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Increasingly diverse workforce, not the "old school EMC." The leadership is committed to making the employees and the company successful. Great benefits, many smart and dedicated people to work with. We are in business to stay in business! The training and growth opportunities are off the charts! You can make or remake yourself and grow within EMC.

    Cons

The culture is in transition, business drivers can occasionally disrupt. All in all, I have no misgivings about the company.

    Advice to Management

The Federation is redefining and establishing what makes us exceptional in the industry. Stick with the plan, it's making the competition adapt!

I have been working at EMC full-time

    Pros

Good product, high priced, great marketing

    Cons

They want your life and the pay doesn't align with expectations. Got to big and internally a zoo. It's all about the sale at any cost. Don't turn your back, you won't be there for the long run.

    Advice to Management

Management has become to political, not as good as they think. The report/forecast is what drives the organization.
