Pros

Compensation is good. However, employees are treated like pieces of furniture, or worse. If you're just concerned about money and don't care about your human dignity, EMC is the place for you!

Cons

- On-boarding process is non-existent: you'll only receive and incomplete and misleading document that supposedly has everything you need to get up and running. No other help is available.
- HR / Payroll are impossible to get ahold of. If you have any problems, whatever they are, the time the solutions take to resolve them is always measured in weeks.
- Mistakes made by EMC during "on-boarding" are never admitted or corrected. Example: you may live in TX (no state income tax), but they may on-board you as a New York State employee and start deducting NY income tax from your paycheck.
- If you have to travel for work, be advised that the EMC per-diem for meals is only $50. FIFTY DOLLARS.
- EMC won't reimburse you for internet or telephone expenses
- Expense report submissions is a nightmare. Everything is done via FAX, yes... FAX! Even a one-line expense will require a 5-page-long FAX. (This is no exaggeration).
- Internal processes and operations are broken or non existent.
- The golden EMC rule: "the employee is always wrong"
- The concept of work-life balance is unheard of at EMC

Advice to Management

I can't offer advice to EMC's leadership as there is none. I can offer advice to the people holding high-level management titles, though: RESIGN

    Pros

Good experience. This is a place you work for about 4 years to gain experience. Then you go somewhere else to get your pay up to average and a better quality of life.

    Cons

    Poor pay.
    Poor quality of life.
Terrible job of onboarding and mentoring employees.

    Advice to Management

    Retire

    Pros

I like the culture the best. And the freebies. The EMC freebies were really good.
Also the salaray was more than I thought I would ever get.

    Cons

Competitive co-worker philosophy. A lot of internal competition for easy jobs. Plenty of work to do. Maybe not so good bonus for me.

    Advice to Management

Pay key peops good bonus. High saraly not enuff to retain key talent. Joe Tucci could retire any day now, so watch you back.
