    Pros

    Best reasons to work at EQT are the company’s strategic position and senior management focus on delivering on long term strategic goals.

    Cons

    Downsides are few and far between. I guess from a Myers Briggs standpoint the management team are heavily weighted towards the ESTJ side. In my opinion, excessively so, even when compared to other oil and gas companies.

    Advice to Management

    Attempt to find some balance in the Myers Briggs makeup of the management team.

    I worked at EQT Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Interesting work; in a changing world of natural gas energy where the possiblity of exporting this commodity will add years to the viability of the product. EQT- This company could be on the forefront of being a preferred employer. It has deep pockets and could be a real partner to local government and businesses. Tries to partner in some meaningful ways to impact people- specifically in WV.
     However-offers scholarships to some specific counties and wants to put on a good face for WV and sponsorship of things like fireworks, marathon's and some cultural ideas.

    Cons

    Pulling back the curtain on EQT- the Company has policies that are to followed, but HUGE favoritism is not only supported, but encouraged. The HR organization is built out a fear mongering tyrant who has no new ideas about HR and initiatives; but asks for those to come from subordinates. No new ideas that will rock the boat will be promoted in this front. Talent Acquisition is more interested in following processes instead of getting results. There is closed doors that are directly resulting from sexism, ageism, and cronyism's that result in no external ideas to be created or followed. From the top of the HR org down, there is a methodical focus on diversity that has a disproportionate ratio of women who make up over 90% of the HR dept overall, and there is a no black HR personnel. Further, that there is shown favoritism towards applicants who are under the median age in the company. Also, some of the corporate directors have limited if not zero interaction with staff underneath them. They play favorites within their subordinates in a closed door environment. This might be encouraging for those who are in the clique or niche by style, age, or looks, but for those who are not, they are segregated.- A

    Advice to Management

    Get in tune with your departments and do some 360 surveys to find out who, what etc. is going on within the ranks of the company- without the fear of reprisals. Because you do them, doesn't mean that anyone feels comfortable in providing REAL feedback. They realize it's traceable. Try a blind survey, or ability to leave non LAN information. This company is extremely silo'd in approach to things like culture, open-ness, and cooperative group think. Some senior managers and VP's are very good such as those in field operations, and remote groups like, midstream, production and land field offices. Those who are not, or are closer to the headquarters are rule by mandate of there are two types of people, those who give orders and those who follow them; much like economist Adam Smith " all for myself- none for anyone else'' which includes the gluttony of money for senior directors vp's and the like with very little left for others including affirmation and employee acknowledgement. Very much as 'cast society' within the walls of this company.
