    Pros

The culture is people focused and great emphasis in placed on reinforcing the value of the people as an asset to organizational success. To this end, the firm provides an excellent benefits package, training and development opportunities and a "flexibility" benefit that makes work/life balance very attainable. EY prides itself on high ethical standards and delivers on that commitment.

    Cons

Highly matrixed, disorganized structure. Lack of efficiency. Lots of red tape, making it difficult to accomplish the simplest of tasks without proper documentation. Poor or fragmented communication practices. Despite quality being one of the critical success factors, the actual quality of work outside of the audit function often leaves a lot to be desired.

    Advice to Management

EY is an extremely large and disconnected institution. Clarity and consistency in communiction with respect to culture, organizational goals and priorities is key as is promoting efficiency and professionalism at all levels of the firm.

    Pros

The people below the manager level who work for E&Y are top notch they will stay later and help to get the work done. Given lots of room to grow. I have worked on some really great projects.

    Cons

The problem comes from upper management who are either lacking the technical skills or the people skill and sometimes both. No cohesion from upper management they are looking to get the job done even if it will overwork their staff and seniors.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you let people on the team know they are valued and you appreciate the hard work they but in during busy season when they are working 90 hours a week. How about a day off when it really slows down or a happy hour.
