I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

Pros

You work with intelligent people that you wouldn't mind hanging out with on the weekend

Cons

At a staff level there is not much content learning going on. Some times it feels like you should have started in industry so that you actually have knowledge to advise with. It seems like the company is growing faster every year. Its hard to keep a culture with such extreme growth

Advice to Management

Invest more in educating your staff on the content in which they are working on!

I have been working at EY full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A lot of career advancement opportunities, the ability to work with senior management on a frequent basis, and the opportunity to work in an array of different industries with having very little prior work experience.

    Cons

Very long hours during busy season. You might be assigned to several "busy season" clients in a row and will not have a break from constant stress for quite a significant amount of time. Also, the technology the firm uses is outdated (i.e. - specifically the e-mail server they use).

    Advice to Management

Recognize its people for their contributions, provide employees the ability to choose an industry related to their individual interests (i.e. - on audit side) and hire more people for busy season months.

  2. "Disorganized culture"

I have been working at EY full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Stable job. Getting the job is difficult as the onboarding criteria are rigid and the interviewers critical. But once you're in, it takes a lot to get fired. It's primarily an audit firm, which stabilizes the job uncertainty in a volatile consulting climate.

    Cons

Culture. The professionals across the firm are very young. Although fairly competent, the age shows because the people can be extremely immature and the entrepreneurial culture and growth can sometimes mean aggressiveness and lots of office politics. Imagine lots of young people with power and responsibility working long hours. That's the firm.

    Advice to Management

    Diversify your hirees!
