Approves of CEO

I worked at EY as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

A lot of great benefits and the pay is good. Or at least the pay is good until you realize how many hours you're working. You have great skills transferability. Work here for one year, take advantage of the benefits, and leave.

Cons

You end up working long hours. Especially if you travel, you will only get one day off a week. They tell you that you'll only work Monday through Thursday, but to keep up appearances to the client, you end up staying until at least 5pm on Friday. This place is a pyramid scheme and the partners are out of touch.

Advice to Management

Quit using smoke and mirrors about how great it is here and actually talk to your staff.

I have been working at EY full-time

    Pros

Some of the people are great to work with and care about your future.

    Cons

Some seniors and managers consistently perform at a low level, yet continue to get promoted.
You have to be able to teach yourself and be self-sufficient because many people are too busy to stop and teach you or clearly explain assignments. A lot of the work is putting screen shots in Excel or Word, not what they tell you in the interview. Some of the work is very challenging and time consuming and budget is a constant worry.
Everyone says stick it out and great opportunities will come your way, but I have not gained many skills or knowledge that would translate to a different job. I have gotten better at managing myself and others, but that is a skill that comes with most jobs.
