    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Excellent food philosophy, 20% discount on purchases, pretty surroundings, flexible schedules.

    Cons

Low pay compared to what our competition offers, VERY FEW females promoted to management, very high expectations of employee's with very little given back. Earth Fare pretends to promote from within. No clear path to advancement with the company. Very biased against employees with college degree's. The highest raise a team member may receive after one year of dedicated service is 3% of their hourly rate. That amounts to pennies!

    Advice to Management

Show more appreciation for team members with praise, financial incentives, and mentoring.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

great benefits, co-workers, non-discrimination and open to alternative minded people, food philosophy (NO hydrogenated oil, NO high fructose corn syrup, NO artificial anything) is the most stringent, opportunities for management if you don't mind relocating. The employees are wonderful considerate people and receive regular praise from customers.

    Cons

Employees not held accountable by store management for their actions. Store management repeatedly fails to coach and educate staff according to Earth Fare principles, not only on food product philosophy but how to treat customers and your employees, and most importantly how to work on a team. There are periodic store meetings and an in-store customer service trainer, but these principles are not reinforced nor practiced by most, not all, store and department managers. We are different from most stores, but it needs to be taught and reinforced to employees and the public.

    Advice to Management

Employees have pride in their work and this covers up management shortcomings. When corporate makes their rounds, all might appear to be well. Anonymous reviews of store manangement could go a long way if they are taken seriously. Corporate needs to hold store management accountable as well. It starts at the top and if employees don't have the necessary avenues and tools, they can't be successful. Corporate encouragement to be empowered cannot happen in this environment. To truly be different, you need to change this. ACCOUNTABILITY

Huge push for new store openings-seems internal infrastructure needs to be strengthened first
