I worked at Earth Fare full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

employee discount and great food

Cons

Upper management shows no appreciation for hard working team members that go above and beyond expecations. As someone who was new to the company as a dept. manager I felt like an outcast from day one and thrown to the wolves after opening day. Upper management did not seem to show any compassion for a hardworking mother of a toddler. Expected to be robotic and dedicate all your waking moments working. Wasn't even given a chance to implement the plans and ideas created for the dept. Store management rather of believed rumors and lies than find out the truth. Be prepared to be sabotaged.

Advice to Management

Listen to your team members and have a little more compassion for those who are new and work their butts off. Don't make them feel inferior because they have a family to take care of as well. Communicate better instead of coming to conclusions based on false information. Employ more than one female dept.manager. Give new dept. managers more than a 4 day chance to grasp the "Earth Fare Way"

    Pros

20% discount, fast growing company, great co workers. great dept mangers. the ability to move up is there. some other great perks

    Cons

if you want to move up plan working 50 plus hours and getting paid for 32, the hours get cut a lot, the schedules are made only for less than a week out. it seems like their is a disconnect from the top down. the store has no idea about marketing in different regions like the south vs north ect

    Advice to Management

do what you say, do good be good if you were to run the company like you say you do it would be great.

Current Employee - Produce & Floral Manager in Fairview Park, OH

    Pros

Associates are pleasant to work with and are hard working seeking advancement opportunities.

    Cons

When promoted to management level it is expected that you work longer hours ie.12 to 14 on average 6 days per week or you are not devoted to the company. Forget calling in sick. If you work in OH. and the company needs you in NC. tomorrow get ready to pack your bags. Some of the systems need updated as well.

    Advice to Management

If your company maintained a work life balance it would be a much more enjoyable and satisfying place to work.
