I have been working at EarthLink full-time (More than a year)

Pros

The base pay is great with standard benifits. Expanding product portfolio quickly to adjust to newer market. A very large retail footprint. The agent channel is very robust and fruitful.

Cons

Commishion Structure is very complex, targets are unrealistic, to much consolidation in the product business units. Executive Turnover is high causing great uncertanty within the organization.

Advice to Management

Align the salesforce and eliminate internal competition and adopt an new compensation model that is inline with company goals of growing revenue.

I worked at EarthLink full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you wait 9 months to a year senior management will change so if there is someone you don't like there is a short term you'll need to endure until that person leaves.

    Cons

There is a serious lack of corporate vision which translates to confusion throughout the company. Last week they let go another 200-250 employees. Like the Titanic the problem wasn't the ship is sinking, it's the environment the passengers would endure once they were in the water. This ship named EarthLink is sinking and they have no boats, life jackets. or any other protection for those in the water. Like the Titanic, the lower you are in the ranks the worse you are treated.

    Advice to Management

Quit trying to be something you're not. Your largest investments were made as a CLEC and those investments dictate who you are. Your IT capabilities are limited and you are not ready for prime time. I realize your stock would be higher valued at an IT services entity but you are not there.

I have been working at EarthLink full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    A good starting base salary

    Cons

The company is downsizing and has practically wiped all of their sales teams in the Northeast.

    Advice to Management

In over their head and incompetency is a bad, bad combination. Should be ashamed.
