I worked at Eaton full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Organized system. Good Benefits. Ample opportunities to move around the different divisions of the company, be it within the same facility or others.

Cons

As mentioned, politics and power struggle at high levels, GM has no relevance and does not command a presence due to constant change of GMs and also politics of their higher management.

Advice to Management

Good Luck continuing looking in all the wrong places and ignoring existing problems. For employees that have been with the company for over 10 years and their position can be merely shifted like it doesn't matter proves and shows how you treat loyalty and effects how your employees should treat you in future!!

I have been working at Eaton (More than a year)

    Pros

    *Great environment to work with.
*Management will come to bat for you when needed during program reviews, etc.
*High visibility to senior management types.

    Cons

*Regardless of how well you think you do during the year in achieving APEX goals, it is a big time struggle to get anything of a descent merit increase.
*I highly question what impact the employee surveys actually have in communicating back with upper management as to how well they are doing. Same responses and feedback year after year with little change seen.
*The company is so big, its hard to know the entire product line inside and out.

    Advice to Management

More communication flow down is needed from the top level management and even mid-level management.

I worked at Eaton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Pay is ok, great benefits

    Cons

Supervisors never held accountable for their actions.
Great deal of favoritism, if you are not "in" you will be "out"

    Advice to Management

Quit allowing the Supervison to snow you. There is serious problems with some of the Supervisor, stop for a moment, look deep in the leadership and wonder why there in turnover. No one will ever be honest on your surveys in fear of losing their job in the economy.
