Pros

Company makes an honest effort to take employee feedback into consideration when rolling out new initiatives. Managers care about their reports.

Cons

Sometimes the simplest changes take a very long time to implement within the matrix structure. The need to drive standards over time does not always address current needs.

Advice to Management

Strategy is well articulated but it is not always clear how current actions will address the strategy in the near-term.

    Pros

Good group of people to work with. Decent benefits and pay. 1 week holiday shutdown in December is always nice.

    Cons

It is very hard to move up in this organization. Many of the people have been in their same positions for 20+ years. Many of the younger people end up moving on to different companies after a couple years. Eaton pays for education, but a lot of the people end up leaving as soon as they finish their degrees because there are so few opportunities for advancement.
Also, this is a union facility, and the union can be difficult to deal with at times.

    Advice to Management

Find opportunities to develop your salaried employees to keep them interested in their jobs. Also, stop letting the union walk all over you.
