Discount, flexibility, structure, history, benefit package, advancement opportunities, fun people (mostly)

Cons

hours-it's retail get used to it:)
staff turnover
economic cuts to support the downturn in the American economy, that is the birthplace and location of most of the stores- but the cuts are impacting the teams' abilities to get the job done

Advice to Management

Review your buys and trends-re-visit the demographic, the last 2 years saw a strong casual move, too strong-we used to see all levels shop-once you "outgrow" AE & GAP, you were supposed to come here shoppers are not coming here, in spite of recent back to school/college marketing

    Pros

    -Great people
    -Dedicated customer base
    -Loyalty
    -During the holiday season a real sense of every team member contributing
    -Hardest working store-level managers in the industry

    Cons

    -No incentive to hit sales goals
    -Unattainable sales goals through the week during low periods
    -Conversion numbers are horribly inaccurate, but extremely important
    -Nothing for anyone under 40 to buy outside of First Ascent gear

    Advice to Management

    Treat your store-level mangers better. Most work unbelievable hours ensuring your success, only to be treated very poorly when dealing with upper management.

    Pros

    Eddie Bauer's Creed & Guarantee, the company's history, I really enjoy working with my team, the customers, good pay, benefits.

    Cons

    SMs not required to clock shifts. It's being abused. Time/Money wasted by this, while I worry about going into overtime.

    Advice to Management

    Please make Store Managers clock in and out like everyone else! Some are Not Earning what they Keep. Unfair. Wasteful.
