I worked at Edelman full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people, fun to work with

    Cons

Very cheap company; only got one bonus in three years and it was only 1 paycheck worth. Very few promotions in my group. HR and two people I interviewied with misled me about possibility of interim promotion. Requirements for a promotion kept changing. Head of my group rarely communicated creating an environment of paranoia and frustration in the group.

I have been working at Edelman full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work with smart, creative people; if you want agency experience, this is a good place to get it; ability to work with large and interesting clients; challenging environment; nice benefits and time-off package

    Cons

Big divide between junior and senior staff; work environment can be chaotic and unpredictable; many senior staffers don't have the time or interest to fully explain projects, provide feedback or mentor; your experience largely depends on the team you're on and the type of clients you work with; long hours are expected; senior staff can be disrespectful of junior staff's time; it can be a good place for entry-level people or very senior, but not great for mid-level.

    Advice to Management

Don't spread everyone so thin and pay more attention to developing junior and mid-level staff.
