Pros

Edmonds Community Colleges is a great place to work when you are earning your degree there. The work environment is friendly, social, and positive.

Cons

The pay is on the lower side, and the parking is horrible at times. The office technology could use an upgrade.

Advice to Management

Hire more onsite software developers, specifically web-services developers. Develop your own web services instead of contracting out to companies who provide crappy products (products the students hardly use.)

I have been working at Edmonds Community College full-time

    Pros

The students tell me they feel EdCC is warm and welcoming. New students are often met with a smile. The majority of the staff are there for the right reasons and this shows in their work. People feel cared for and staff work to treat people with respect.

    Cons

    Typical Cons in Higher Ed:
Too many interim positions has led to morale problems. But, people wanting to work in Higher Ed today do not always stay well beyond 1-2 yrs in their positions, for reasons I believe related to cost of living growth or desire for personal growth. On the other end, people who have been employed for a long time have trouble accepting new leadership and changes, which may also affect new employees deciding to stay.

    Advice to Management

Improve interim terms and provide clearer timeline expectations.
