I have been working at Education Corporation of America full-time (More than a year)

Pros

The CEO appears to be a straightforward person. He runs the organization like a publicly traded company with quarterly town halls. And holds teleconferences when major changes occur to ease employees' minds. He also really seems to care about the classroom experience for students.

Cons

The corporate office frequently makes decsions without considering the impact at the campus level and then expect the campuses to outperform without the necessary resources to be successful.

Advice to Management

Ask questions of other people besides those immediately under you. It's a bad time for career education in general. We will all undertand when changes need to occur. Just give us time to properly implement it.

    No merit pay increases
    No performance bonuses
General attitude around the company is negative
Insurance costs were drastically increased and benefits were decreased

I have been working at Education Corporation of America full-time

    Pros

    Great benefits package; growing company

    Cons

Corporate management is out of touch with site employees, students and the communities the schools are in; R & D have done a subpar job at recommending programs at schools and communities where the programs will flourish; advancement opportunites very sparse

    Advice to Management

Visit the campus more often, take the advice of on site employees, and students are not widgets that can be put out on an assembly line.
