I have been working at Education Management Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Ability to move to different departments and schools is easier, people you work with are typically in their mid to late 20's so it's easy to make friends, programs that the schools offer are needed in today's educational world (online=easier for working adults to go back to school), dedicated faculty

    Cons

Company is not seen in a positive light in the media right now, management can be very militant, performace goals are unobtainable at times because many factors that play in reaching those goals are out of your control.

    Advice to Management

Get to know your employees and understand their motivations can make for a more productive environment.

I worked at Education Management Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get good sales training constantly. You'll really learn how to sell. My team was very close knit, the pay was decent, and there are advancement opportunities if you're "in" with the right people.

    Cons

There were so many shady things going on it was like a soap opera. Managers got fired for inappropriate behavior, recruiters got fired for bad practices, good people who met goals got let go because they weren't liked by management. Quite a circus!

    Advice to Management

I don't know what to say since management is such a big part of the problem.
