Pros

Higher education industry is in Obama's radar which creates unnecessary challenges. There is a concerted effort to ensure compliance. Does not seem to be a major shift in core values, just a lot of extra work to satisfy regulatory agencies.

Strong leadership. Profitable. Growing.

Cons

Fast growth can generate concerns over whether there is a good vision and direction. The company is still in the middle of a culture change from a big small-company to a big big-company.

Advice to Management

Keep up the communication and visibility among all employees to stay informed. In the information age, everyone wants to know about everything.

    Pros

The employees are diverse and are from all walks of life. When reaching out to students, employees do have the potential to do good work.

    Cons

There is such a huge turnover that the company can't keep track of the employees (the first day I was placed in the wrong training from the entire day).
Small office spaces and break rooms. If you aren't going out for lunch and spending your money; good luck trying to find a spot in the lunch room because there aren't enough seats!

    Advice to Management

For as big as this company is, the management lacks in most areas. The new hire training is based on "overcoming student objections" rather than educating new hires about what the school has to offer (programs, tuition, TOC, etc.). The company is more invested in hitting sales numbers than doing something good for the students that are being recruited.
The modo of this company is totally different than the overall operation.

    Pros

Fellow employees were a real plus; a team attitude existed.
    Some positions pay decently.
    The company still is growing.
    Benefits were decent.

    Cons

Changed to privately held in 2006; new managers and leaders came in. Changes were not all positive (stricter working conditions). Staffing sometimes has been a problem. Recent restructuring led to positions being eliminated.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees more fairly and equitably. Don't use the recession as an excuse to keep raises low. The restructuring really damaged morale.
