    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Seem to be fairly reasonable about work life balance, but that all depends on your department and leader. Profit sharing is a nice bonus.

    Cons

To assume you can make decisions, have people listen to you, be creative or have any amount of fun at your job is a stretch. Having a personality and/or think outside the box is not encouraged here. We all sacrifice and are expected to do more with less so the super high ups can keep on getting their millions in bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Your goals and objectives may not be the individual's goals and objectives. We are not all cookie cutter people...figure that out and you will have a much happier place...and move beyond the ties!

    Pros

Flexible time, you're your own boss (mostly), you gain great networking and management experience, you relate with many people, you have your own office space, the vacation rewards are outstanding, and if you can hang on long enough, you can make a lot of annual income.

    Cons

Highly stressful and exhausting first 3-5 years, the work is very repetitive, and money becomes more of a life-focus than it should for many families and many marriages.

    Advice to Management

Just because an advisor is successful enough at hitting production goals to be a top dog in his/her region does not mean they will be good leaders or managers of other advisors. I have encountered three different regional leaders in my 25 years in the Jones family, all of which were excellent advisors, and all of which were terrible regional leaders. Improve your leadership program a LOT. Their biggest incentive for being a leader to make more money and move towards Limited/General parnternship, not effectively leading other advisors towards moral/emotional support, role modeling, and greater financial success.
