I worked at Edwards Lifesciences full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

The campus is nice and continuously improved
The products are good and you know you are helping patients every day
Co-workers are nice people

Cons

Politics are stifling the company, people get promoted without technical skills, more because the upper management 'likes' them
Managers don't know what they are doing and there is no way for them to learn how to improve themselves and develop their employees. Most managers are just looking out for themselves
Constant location shuffling of departments - major loss of productivity during each relocation

Advice to Management

Learn who the real workers are and reward them, not the 'face' of the projects. Politics are terrible and it will hurt the company in the long run. There are tons of talented people at Edwards, but they are buried under all of the levels of management. Stop overworking the engineers, it's too much.

I have been working at Edwards Lifesciences full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company with long standing brands that cash flow. Invested in new technologies that will change the way medical procedures are done.

    Cons

There is a new element of "petty management" in the company. As a company grows so does the short sighted J&J style of management.

    Advice to Management

    Encourage ideas and your employees.
