Positive Outlook

I have been working at El Camino Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

I have enjoyed my time spent away from my family to be with my work family

Cons

they are wanting to have you go between campuses and that would require more driving and that would be a con for me

People at the hospital were very nice and welcoming, complimentary drinks and coffee for volunteers

    Cons

Some junior volunteers never found replacements or substitutes for their missed shifts therefore some shifts were lacking volunteers

I have been working at El Camino Hospital as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great starting pay. Great people, my fellow employees are very kind and nice to work with. Wonderful customer service. Beautiful hospital. 403(b) is provided with 3-5% matching I believe. Sometimes I feel the vastness of the hospital and their ideals of prestige rubs off on the employees...leading to an attitude of entitlement. Other than that it's great.

    Cons

Union negotiations are never-ending. That is probably present everywhere though.
The insurance they provide me with is so basic, it's not taken by their own hospital. Or maybe they're too hoity-toity.
