I have been working at Electronic Arts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Teams are filled with very smart people that are solving leading edge technological problems every day.
-Work/Life has gotten a lot better. People always take off when they need to. At some points during alpha some do stay until late, but thats the gaming industry for you. They have learned from their mistakes and now they have a great balance of work/play
-Orlando is a great city to live in full of surprises.
-You have to understand that even though it's not the highest pay in the world, living in orlando makes up for it. A good apartment all to yourself will be $800.

    Cons

-Yearly releases leaves tight schedules and little room for innovative exploration. Thats not a bad thing necessarily.
-Workflow seems a little obfuscated due to years and years of old code being built on.

    Advice to Management

I know its a super tight schedule and the top guys have a lot of pressure on you, but leave room for innovation. Understand and explain that a little more innovation will make this place take leaps and bounds, and of course make a lot of money.

  2. "A company that likes to waste money"

I worked at Electronic Arts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great salaries and bonuses. Working at main campus is very nice and has lots of perks. Discounts on games and game consoles a nice perk.

    Cons

No real direction. Too many silos. Wastes a lot of money on things that make them feel cool and important instead of on things that would help customers.

    Advice to Management

Don't waste money on things that are just for looking cool. Instead spend money of infrastructure and engineers that know what they are doing.
