I worked at Electronic Arts full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Fun company, lots of travel, great campus.

Cons

Very policitical and lots of backstabbing. It's about who you know and who you're friends with.

Advice to Management

More focus on getting work done and less on keeping the harmony.

    Pros

Great Staff! Co-workers are hard working, fun loving and spirited individuals.

    Cons

Senior management in short sighted personally motivated and relatively inept.
Employee evaluation process is the most dysfunctional event I've ever seen next to Gulf War.
Culture and values have decreased in significance and attention since the 2002. Stock value 25% of it's former self as is the senior management.

    Advice to Management

Ask Vivian McDonald to leave the company. Yesterday!

I worked at Electronic Arts full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It is what you thought it was. Great communication, collaboration, and a final product that you can see, touch and be proud of. Some of the smartest people around and a work environment that will push you to excel. Great resources and the ability to choose what you want to work on...to some degree. Great benefits like amazing insurance, free food and a solid bonus structure when the product does well.

    Cons

Typical of what you would expect. So-so wages, long work hours, political office environment, tough expectations, high pressure and last minute changes. Then some more last minute changes. Finally, some last minute changes.

    Advice to Management

There have been some tough times in the packaged goods business, but management has made some strides. Keep the people informed and lead rather than direct.
